Reasons to save water

Reasons for the exchange

With Neoperl's aerators and flow regulators, you get an uncomplicated and sustainable solution to reduce water consumption and maintain the function of your faucets – without any major effort.
  • Better water flow, better cleanliness: over time, limescale and other deposits build up in faucet aerators, which can affect the flow of water. Replacement ensures that the water flow remains consistent, fewer germs and bacteria accumulate and the life of your faucets is extended.
  • Easy retrofitting for every home: NEOPERL products are designed so that they can be installed without much effort. The regulators can be fitted quickly and easily, even without any manual skills, so you can benefit from the advantages straight away.
  • Save water and energy: Our aerators and flow regulators are designed to reduce water consumption without reducing your comfort. Lower consumption also means less energy used to heat the water - and this is reflected positively in your household bill.
  • Environmental protection in everyday life: By reducing your water consumption, you are actively helping to protect the environment. By using less water, you also reduce the CO₂ emissions associated with heating the water. A small step for you, but a big contribution to conserving resources.

How do I find the right aerator for my faucet?

Choosing the right aerator depends on several factors – above all on the type of faucet you have and your individual requirements. To ensure that the aerator fits your faucet perfectly, you should consider the following points:
  • Size: Faucets have different threaded holes. Make sure that the aerator is the same size and type as your existing one. There are models with a "housing" (metal ring on the spout) and those that are screwed in directly.
  • Flow rate: Depending on the area of use (e.g. washbasin, kitchen or guest WC), you will need more or less water. The flow rate is given in liters or gallons per minute and there are different models to suit your needs.
  • Extra features: From special stream patterns to limescale protection technologies – depending on the model, there are different functions that increase convenience or extend the life of your faucets.
If you are not sure which size or model is best for your faucet, we will be happy to help you!

Shower

Shower

Installing a flow regulator in the shower is a simple way to significantly reduce water consumption. With minimal effort, you can ensure a better shower experience and a more sustainable use of resources.
Washbasin faucet

Washbasin faucet

You can retrofit a water-saving aerator to the basin mixer, which can significantly reduce consumption and have a positive impact on both your household costs and the environment. Regular replacement also helps to improve hygiene and keep your taps in good working order for longer.

In the kitchen, water consumption can also be reduced by retrofitting aerators. This simple step not only reduces water consumption, but also protects against limescale deposits, which can damage your faucets over time. This increases the convenience of daily use while conserving resources and extending the life of your faucets.

Frequently Asked Questions

Neoperl products are available in DIY stores and their online shops, or from your plumber.
If a faucet is factory-fitted to save water, it usually has a flow rate of 5-6 liters (1.3 to 1.6 gallons) per minute while a shower has 10 liters (2.6 gallons) per minute max. If necessary, the rate can be subsequently reduced to 4 liters (approx. 1 gallon) per minute for faucets and 8 liters (2.1 gallons) per minute for showers.
To do this, the flow rate must be measured. Here is a guide on how to measure the litre flow: › "Water tap litre flow measurement"
All the materials are approved for drinking water. They do not release any substances into the water! Silicone or TPE, EPDM and POM.
Water flows from the faucet towards the hand shower. The water must always reach the small black o-ring / sieve first.
  • When installing in front of the hand shower: install the o-ring/sieve in the direction of the shower hose.
  • When installing in front of the overhead shower: o-ring/sieve must point upwards.

There is a check valve installed in your faucet to prevent backflow. You cannot open the faucet. Try another installation position – in the shower hose upstream of the shower handle, for instance. Please note: the water needs to reach the small O-ring first.
Try a different installation position.
Check the fit of the washer or insert the old seal as well.
Use a pipe wrench, but wrap a dishcloth around the cone to protect it.

The Neoperl EasyMatch app makes it easy to identify an aerator. Download the app for free, answer questions about the appearance of the aerator you want to replace. The app uses this information to determine the right model.

Use a pipe wrench. Place a cloth over the spout to protect the faucet from scratching.
Faucets for use with non-pressurised water heaters are usually fitted with a low resistance stream shaper instead of a conventional faucet aerator. This stream shaper must not be replaced by a water-saving aerator for reasons of safety of the non-pressurised water heater. The flow rates of such a system tend to be in the water-saving range anyway.
Check the fit of the seal or put the old seal back in place.
