| Is it possible to customize the marking of aerator housings? | |
NEOPERL’s assembly lines are equipped with laser marking equipment to produce a permanent high quality marking (including custom logos) on the chrome plated or PVD finished surface of aerator housings offered to manufacturers (OEMs). The process provides two marking areas on the housing circumference located 180° apart and of approximately .570” in arc length (about .520” in straight line) and about .190” in height. To keep marking proportions correct (maintain length/width ratio of the original artwork) certain texts or logos will fill the marking area lengthwise and some will fill it vertically. NEOPERL’s laser marking technology will not damage the surface finish of the housing. Laser marked aerators meet the requirements for plating adhesion and corrosion resistance of ASTM B456 (as specified in ASME A112.18.1M). Laser marking is currently available on regular size housings including:Regular male, Regular male Euro (w/ side flats), Regular female, Regular dual thread, Regular vandal-proof male, Regular vandal-proof female. Other housing sizes and custom housing shapes are usually marked using a mechanical process referred to as roll marking. The process is applied to unplated housings (raw brass) and reproduces letters and numbers (but not custom logos). The marking area can be almost as long as the housing circumference (about 80-85% of the circumference) with a recommended maximum height of about .130”. Roll marking is available for the following housing sizes and types: Regular male slotted (Spring-Flo®) Regular female slotted (Spring-Flo®) Junior male, Junior male (w/ tightening groove), Junior female, Junior male slotted, (Spring-Flo®) Junior female slotted, (Spring-Flo®) Tom Thumb® male, Tom Thumb® female. |
