The Veterans Health Administration, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, provides guidance in establishing engineering procedures for plumbing systems in VA medical facilities. The VHA Directive 97-027 in particular recommends to “remove aerators in plumbing fixtures” and “replace with laminar flow devices” to reduce the risk of Legionella contamination.

To meet the needs of medical facilities, NEOPERL® offers the PCA® Care product line of screenless laminar flow faucet attachments with built-in pressure compensating flow regulation.

PCA® Care products are available in regular male and female chrome plated housing as well as vandal-proof housings to fit most faucets in flow rates of 2.2 gpm and 1.5 gpm. These products also comply with ASME A112.18.1M, CSA B125 and ANSI / NSF 61.

The design benefits of PCA® Care are:

1) Protection against bacteria:
  • Screenless construction reduces lime build up and accumulation of micro-organisms,

  • Laminar flow: does not aspirate air and airborne bacteria into the water stream.

  • 2) Reduction of maintenance costs:
  • Non-splashing stream reduces clean up maintenance,

  • Vandal proof housing prevents unauthorized removal,

  • Single piece plastic insert (internal part) virtually unbreakable,

  • High quality chrome plating will not tarnish.

  • 3) Water conservation without sacrificing customer comfort:
  • True pressure compensating flow regulation provides comfortable flow at high and low pressure,

  • Produces crystal clear stream soft to the touch.
